Highlights from a message by Pastor John Keating ---
In May, we started a mid week prayer meeting here at Hope Centre. Heather and I want to encourage you to never loose that willingness to come and pray as a group, but to build on it. God will bless you.
Pastor Jerry was obedient to God in putting this Prayer Cross on the wall, to display and remind us of our petition before God for our families. We are fighting a war in the spirit realm for our families. In Nehimiah we have a physical fight that represents a spiritual fight. It may be that in our younger life we were not as committed to God as we are now. We are now called to fight for our sons and daughters and our grandchildren. This fight is the only thing we can do now. In Nehemiah, they had a lot of repenting to do. They were part of the cause and inherited a situation that took many years. It could be that we have repenting to do also. Maybe we have done that, and now we are depending on God to do what He must do for us… and that’s a good place to be. God is a trustworthy God.
Let us stand in faith believing with expectancy that God has our family in His loving care. Let’s read about our fight in Ephesians 6:10-19. This is good for us in all our struggles in the spirit realm. It is what we have been doing on Wednesday night here. the Word of God combined with praying the Word of God does great damage to our enemy and will free our family members.
Like Paul, admonishing Timothy in I Tim 6:12 “Fight the Good Fight of Faith laying hold of eternal life”
The sure foundation items that we can be ascertained of when we approach God…
1. When we pray God is there and hears us. When a sinner cries out to God for salvation, God is there ready to provide salvation. If the request is for anything else: healing, food, money to pay a bill, safety through a perilous situation, being filled with His Spirit… God still hears and is ready to provide.
2. God hears our every prayer – even when it doesn’t feel like it! Feelings are temporal. Feelings, although very good sometimes are not a measure of God’s presence. When you have pain in your body and it is intense, God hears every cry you call out to him. The pain or sickness may drown out the feelings of His presence, but He is there to heal. Jesus promises to do what we ask Him. (John 14:12-14,15) Read in Spirit Filled Life Bible and Read Kingdom Dynamics.
3. We also have to keep our confession true to what we are believing for. (Mark 11:20-24) Let’s say what we know is our faith confession rather than what the present circumstances.
Let’s believe God and expect a mighty move of God today. Let’s believe that a miracle is just around the corner. We know that God is always true to His Word.
