“Embracing the Supernatural! “
Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem before His crucifixion is a significant event in the Gospels. Jesus entered Jerusalem riding a donkey, fulfilling a prophecy from Zechariah about the coming of a righteous king. The crowds welcomed Him with shouts of "Hosanna" and spread their cloaks and branches on the road ahead of Him. A few days later they are shouting, “Crucify Him!" They didn’t understand.
In Hosea 4:6 God says, “My people perish for lack of revelation knowledge of Me” and Proverbs 29:18 says, “Without a vision people cast off restraint God is calling us to get rid of every limitation!
On the Damascus Road the Apostle Paul had an experience with the supernatural! In Philippians 3:10, 11 he says, “That I might know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering; being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain[b] to the resurrection from the dead.” For the joy that was set before Him, Jesus endured the Cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2,3). For the sins that we did, He paid the price! He now lives to make intercession for us.
Weapons will be formed to try you. Be careful what you confess! It is your perspective that matters. When the enemy attacks do not give him higher ground. When faith is leading your feet, you will follow God. Jesus said, “Follow Me!” Don’t let anyone or anything talk you out of your faith! After Peter tries to dissuade Jesus from taking path of suffering and death, Jesus said to Him, “Get behind me Satan” signifying that Peter's thinking is not aligned with God's plan but but that he is giving in to negative thoughts.
Jesus was tempted by Satan for forty days in the wilderness. He answered each temptation with the Word, “It is written…” In Luke 4:14 it says, “He returned in the power of the Spirit,” went into the synagogue and preached an intense message. It says, “He found the place where it was written,”
1
“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Then, with everyone looking at Him, He said, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Like David, Jesus was saying, “I’m here! There is a cause!” We too, have a “cause” if we only understood- if we had a revelation of the resurrection! The Resurrection of Jesus is the most important event in history!
I believe that God is saying that His Church is to be built on glorifying and loving Him – built on His Word and empowered and energized by the Holy Spirit; a friendly church with an encouraging word for all who come! We want God to be high and lifted up!
It’s time for action! Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Without faith you cannot live in the fullness of the plan! WITH NO FAITH IN THE FUTURE THERE IS NO POWER IN THE PRESENT! Jesus said in Luke 18:8, “However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” We need to ask, “Where is faith in this Church?
There are two gifts we don’t mention: The ministry of tears and the ministry of the telephone (Patsy found and used it!). Jeremiah 29:12, 13 says, “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” “Seek Me! Seek Me!”
GOD TAKES OUR NATURAL AND ADDS HIS SUPER TO IT! Power is the result of having faith in Jesus! We must take the limits off God that keeps us from unlocking the supernatural. We are called to embrace the supernatural. Our God is a living, acting, supernatural living Father in our lives.
So, to unlock the supernatural we must:
· DIG DITCHES! (James 2:6) “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” FAITH IS ACTIVE!
· STAY IN UNITY (Ecclesiastes 4:12 – “A three strand chord is not easily broken.”
Jesus said that the sign of the end times will be DECEPTION (Matthew 24:3)! Sometimes we are mixed up in our perspective. We must line up with God’s way of thinking. Where are you looking? We have to step back and look at the full picture.
PERSPECTIVE REQUIRES US TO DO 3 THINGS:
· LOOK UP and SEE GOD FIRST! How you see God will make all the difference in your perspective (Colossians 3:2 says, "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Focus on spiritual and godly matters rather than earthly desires and priorities.
· LOOK IN - Examine yourself. “As you think in your heart so you will be”. (Proverbs 23:7)
· LOOK OUT – to see if others have a need!
NEVER LOOK DOWN! Don’t let the enemy reduce your rank! Have a frank talk with God.
o Have you accepted your mission? Jesus did!
o Do you believe in your mission? Jesus did!
o Are you willing to complete your mission? Jesus was willing!
“IT IS FINISHED!” - “Your will not mine be done!”
