WHAT DO WE VALUE - Pt. 2 Have you considered Joshua?” Pt. 2

Highlights from Pastor Jerry’s Aug 25 Sunday message…

What are we doing that we are not supposed to be doing that is holding up the blessing of God at Hope Centre? Like David let us ask God to search our hearts: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any offensive way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23,24 NIV).  If God gave us gifts and ministries and you are not using them we are creating a problem.

God is bringing us UP TO A HIGHER LEVEL IN JESUS– where we are supposed to be. Everything has already been made available to us in the death and resurrection of Jesus and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.  It’s understanding the Word.  We are representing God!  People don’t need to see double-sided people. They need to see Jesus!

God wants to satisfy us with long life and prosper us! Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious (costly) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” It costs God’s kingdom when the enemy is allowed to take a life prematurely!

“At age 38 I met Jesus! You’re real!  Your WORD is true!  Jesus became my value in everything I did! I had a passion for Jesus!”

God has brought us to our 20th year.  I want to meet all of His conditions and give no part of my territory (my inheritance) to the enemy.

God is asking us, “Have you considered Joshua?” (Read Joshua 1.) God is setting us up!

1 Corinthians 10:11 tells us that this is true of our Jerusalem  “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” Did they live all that God commanded? No! Even after witnessing mighty miracles, even after crossing the Red Sea on dry ground they murmured and complained.  Remember a mixed multitude went came out with them, and ended up making a golden calf to worship while Moses was on the mountain as the finger of God gave Him the ten commandments.

God had them send out 13 men to spy out the land.  Joshua and Caleb were the only two who gave a good report: “We are well able to take the land.” The other spies feared death. They were actually saying, “The giants are bigger than our God!” As a result, all those twenty and up died in the wilderness. They could not enter until the generation who had an evil heart of unbelief died.

God has already been where He is taking us in the new year of 2025. He is taking us UP TO HIGHER LEVELS.  We have to determine the higher level- the higher ground – the greater spirituality! It’s knowing Jesus – having a passion for Jesus!  It has to become intentional!   We can react intentionally of proactively!   He wants us to go into 2025 proactively, having a passion for Jesus! It requires intentionality! We are responsible!  Laziness can get us off course.   We need a revelation of God. “The choices I make determine the experiences I encounter.”

Lord, lift me up and let me stand, by faith, on Heaven’s table land, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

We value STEPS - Which way are your feet pointed? God is calling us to seek Him. There will be obstacles, but God will be with us. There is no turning back!

We value TEAM – even if it’s only two. WE are better than ME!

We value IMPACT! Whatever it takes is what we will do.

God called Joshua to be strong and courageous. Two stood against those who operated in an evil spirit. It came to pass!  “God’s word will not return to Him void, but will accomplish what He has purposed!” (Isaiah 55:11) God is already there waiting for us! 

UP is UP! UP is not down! Joshua and Caleb said, “Let’s go UP AT ONCE and take possession for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30)
